DATA ACQUISITION
How we structure our databases
At Subparks, precision is our top priority. To ensure this, we have assembled teams of experienced surveyors equipped with high-performance GNSS receivers. These experts meticulously traverse each street in the targeted areas, collecting GPS coordinates with remarkable accuracy, ranging from 1 to 3 centimeters.
Unlike faster but less precise methods using vehicle-mounted LiDAR sensors, our approach requires a greater time investment. However, this rigor allows us to offer better precision, meeting the most stringent requirements of the HD mapping and autonomous vehicle industry, an industry where every centimeter counts.
LOCATION TYPE & POLYGON ID
The "Location Type" field is used to categorize the different types of locations we inventory. This field distinguishes individual parking spaces, which are well-defined and clearly marked on the ground, from parking rows where multiple vehicles can park without precise markings for each space.

It is important to note that when it comes to a parking row, it is considered a single entity in our system, with a single "Polygon ID" assigned to represent the entire row.

GPS Coordinates : Geo shape
For each location, we collect a multitude of GPS coordinates at intervals of approximately 10 centimeters. These points are then used to model the "Geo Shape", accurately representing the actual dimensions and contours of the location on the ground.

SPECIFIC VEHICLE TYPE
This field indicates whether the parking space is designated for a specific type of vehicle, such as Standard, Taxi, Handicap, EV, or Shared Loading Zone.
